Poha - the Famous Maharashtrian dish

Poha, aval or chuda...... however you call it, it is indeed a super stuff to cook. I think it forms a part of the breakfast in most of the North Indian families. This is my version of the Poha. You can actually add or substract ingredients based on your taste.

Ingredients: (Serves 2)

2 cups Poha/Aval (wash and soak in very little water)
1 potato (cut into small cubes and half boil them)
1 small onion (finely shopped)
peas (boiled)
green chilly (finely chopped)
turmeric powder
salt
1 lemon
curry leaves
corriander leaves
oil
mustard seeds
urad dal
chana dal

Method:

Heat the pan with oil. Add the mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves and green chilly. Later add the chopped onions and fry for few minutes. Add the half boiled peas and potato and saute them. Add turmeric powder and the poha and then add salt according to taste. Mix it well and take it off from the flame. Pour the lemon juice and mix well. Garnish with chopped corriander leaves and serve with tomato/ garlic pickle.
